Recruitment of Mechanical engineer in caterpillar

JOB PURPOSE:
The position will be a Manufacturing Engineer working within the SSL Assembly Manufacturing Engineering team providing the technical expertise and leadership skills necessary to develop, implement and update manufacturing processes and procedures.

JOB DUTIES:
This is a staff position requiring a high degree of expertise in Manufacturing Engineering principles, product and systems knowledge.

Duties will include:
Completing and updating routings within SAP.
Standard work creation and updating as required.
Coordinating with a small team of manufacturing technicians on a daily basis.
Assisting Manager in core department goals and objectives through scorecard deployment.
Assisting in tool / jig and fixture planning and review tooling design for assembly processes.
Raising New Capital Investments for Projects.
Lead a cross functional team to deliver on New Capital Projects.
Drive Manage the Change adherence / process and disciplines for Engineering Changes.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and Caterpillar 1E specifications.
Investigate Production / Quality related issues using HVC and Teamcentre.
Support production areas with rebalance activities.
Working for manufacturing engineering in NPI programs.
Creation / updates of PFMEA’s.
Adheres to established standards, policies and practices relating to People, Quality, Velocity and Cost reduction etc. in performing assigned duties.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
This position requires thorough knowledge of manufacturing disciplines, gained through previous staff and supervisory positions, with a sound knowledge of manufacturing processes, CPS, Lean principles, have the ability to influence others and lead teams, analytical ability as well as excellent communication skills.

The applicant shall hold an engineering degree in a Mechanical Engineering discipline (or related) with 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in product and systems knowledge.

Applicants with suitable, relevant and extensive knowledge of manufacturing engineering procedures and processes will also be considered.
Thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts
Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
