Michelin India is recruiting Senior Legal counsel for its plant located in the northern part of Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

In this role, the incumbent has to fulfil the following mission:
To provide legal support and guidance to the management of the Company’s manufacturing site situated near Chennai and to represent the legal department in the management of the site"

Job responsibilities:

To provide autonomously or with guidance as required to all questions of corporate law, labour laws and other laws as applicable to manufacturing entity and possibly laws concerning industrial and commercial activities in India.

 Drafting & Negotiating legal contracts;
 Advising and managing (with or without outside counsel) on litigious matters;
 Corporate Secretarial duties;
 Implementation of Group Directives;
 Participating in company’s M&A projects and assistance in the Group’s commercial transactions as assigned by the management.
 Regular consulting of internal clients as part of “preventative lawyering” program;
 Manufacturing specific guidance and advice
 Statutory compliance under Factories Act and other Labour laws.
 Handling various labour related cases including Workmen Compensation, ESI, PF, Bonus Act etc.
 Handling trade unions and other workers Union.
 Filing of various statutory forms under Factories Act and other Labour laws.
 Appearing before Factory Inspector, Labour Inspector for any enquiry etc.
 Drafting legal documents;
 Negotiating legal contracts;
 Advising and managing (with or without outside counsel) on labour issues & litigious matters;
 Implementation of Group Directives;
 Participating in company’s various Group projects and assistance in the Group’s commercial transactions as assigned by the management.
 Regular consulting of internal clients as part of “preventative lawyering” program etc
